2 Day Mothership Kayaking & Sealife Cruise Spend a night onboard the mothership Celeste! After a day exploring Kodiak's beautiful coasts by kayak, return to the warmth and comfort of the Celeste's galley for a galley-cooked dinner fit for an Alaskan fisherman. Smaller groups (3 or fewer) generally sleep onboard, while a remote cabin is reserved for larger groups (4 or more). The following day we'll transcend the traditional boundaries of day-trippers into the realm of the expeditionary as we search for the elusive whale species, comb remote beaches, and find out what's just over the horizon. Exclusive environmental project:
SHUYAK July 19-27, 2008 The "Shuyak Uncovered" project provides visitors a hands-on way to restore our wild places. For a nine day period in 2008, volunteers may spend part of or an entire day to beach debris removal on this wild and uninhabited island. During our week-long stay at Shuyak, periods of debris collection will be offset by guided trips by foot, kayak and skiff through the backcountry of this wild place. Our team will be transported to Shuyak from Kodiak and back, and will receive meals and berthing aboard the MV Island C, an 83' yacht chartered for this expedition. This adventure is made possible through a grant from the Marine Conservation Alliance Foundation and NOAA to Island Trails Network, a non-profit founded and directed by Orcas Unlimited owner Andy Schroeder.

3 Day Mothership Kayaking & Sealife Cruise For the ultimate experience, try this 3-day/2-night mothership cruise. Departing from Anton Larsen Bay will cut three hours of transit, and swap our opening scene from busy harbor to serene estuary. Days are spent exploring the marine and shore life of Kodiak and Afognak Islands from the spectacular perspective of a kayak or the comfortable observation deck of the Celeste. Each night is spent in a new location, either aboard (generally 3 or fewer) or ashore (4 or more) at one of a number of remote cabins. As our range increases with additional day onboard, we'll select the perfect bay on Afognak and glide through it's headwaters to where ocean becomes river, and stoic salmon take their last breath. Bear sightings from the kayak are common during the height of the pink salmon run but never guaranteed. We'll return to Kodiak city after three days of cruising by kayak and mothership, having never covered the same ground twice. You'll be tired by the end of the trip. But oh, the stories you'll tell. Deposits & Delays Deposit rates are 50%, fully refundable up to 30 days in advance of the charter, after which it becomes nonrefundable. For charters and guided trips originating from the city of Kodiak, severe weather may cause cancellation with full refund of deposit on the day of the trip. Cancellations result as a result of unsafe, not simply uncomfortable weather. The captain alone reserves the right to cancel an outing. In case of cancellation: Guests may have the option of rescheduling their trip, or in certain cases, relocating a Marmot Bay Mothership Kayak Trip to Anton Larsen Bay if conditions there permit paddling. Guests may otherwise request a refund. Multi-day charters extended due to severe weather incur an additional fee of 50% of the daily rate per person.
